HARDWARE DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR FIRST TIME RIGHT DESIGNS

Talk Abstract

Embedded systems design involves PCB design, where functional circuits are built by connecting necessary components and firmware is coded and then programmed into the microcontroller to bring the system to life. This needs collaboration between cross functional teams to get the design right for the first time.
As hardware design engineers, we need to work with different teams starting from the requirements of systems team, mechanical team, firmware team, testing and validation team and others to get the functional design. This needs a systematic approach where the whole design process is broken down into manageable stages allowing us to have proper planning, execution and better collaboration. Here we’ll discuss on some of the important things to consider to get the first-time design.
Key Takeaways:
• Importance of clear Requirements
• Schematic Design Practices
• PCB Design Practices
• Cross Functional Collaboration
• Design for Testing and Manufacturing
